Just two (uninformed) comments on the matter: 1. The fact that something is "useful" does not mean that it improves quality of life (eg have mobile phones improved life? really?). 2. Human communication and the relationships between people are constructed on the basis that people forget. Forgetting is a function of human memory, as important as remembering. If everyone could recall exactly every aspect of their relationship to someone else, we would need, as species, to evolve into completely different social structures. As you know, that takes ages, so is it worth it?
